How to Use QR Codes in Your Marketing QR codes, or quick response codes, are square bar code designs that can be used to direct users to a webpage, video, document, or phone function. Users access the content by scanning the code with their smartphone or tablet camera. QR codes are created online using code generators. For most codes there is no cost for creating the graphic. The code can then be used on paper documents, marketing paraphernalia, or other visual assets. To use a QR code, customers simply point their phone camera at the code and the webpage or phone function will open automatically.
