Any contractor who performs Renovation, Repair or Painting (RRP) in Pre-1978 housing or Child-Occupied Facilities must be Lead-Safe Certified by the EPA or an EPA-Authorized state. This class is approved for purposes of certification under Section 402 of TSCA/EPA-Authorized State lead regulations for Lead-Safe Renovation, Repair, and Painting (RRP) work.
Cecilia De La Rosa, an accredited trainer approved by the EPA or EPA-authorized lead program, complies with all regulations for teaching this course. Classes are taught both in English & Spanish. Her background in Commercial Insurance and Risk Management has allowed her to consult with contractors in the Northwest for over two decades with a focus on increasing safety & compliance while incorporating risk mitigation to run a better business.
Aside from reducing the risk of fines and legal issues, certification also provides contractors with the resources and knowledge to work in a lead safe manner to protect their clients and their workers by learning to contain the work area, minimize dust and clean up thoroughly.
Individuals and firms that are not certified could face fines of up to $41,056 p/day.
Remodeling projects create dust, learning how to effectively contain the dust & paint chips while working interior/exterior projects is critical.
Learn lead-safe work practices, proper cleaning techniques and protocols including dust minimization techniques. As well as containment and technical construction practices to isolate the dust and prevent lead contamination.
